The Diag connector is under a panel between the seats..

I would suspect that you have 1 or more Glow plugs defective.. easily checked by pulling the glow plug connectors of and measuring the impedance of each.. Should be around 0.6 ohms.. Any more than that then change it/them..

Or remove them and connect 12v across them and see if they Glow brightly.. Do not let them glow for any more than a few seconds Tho! (Health and Safety Warning.. Do NOT hold/touch the tip of the plug while perfoming this test!)

Make sure that the Scanner you buy supports "CAN" bus..
