Decision pretty much made now.

I'm looking for an Astra F (Mk3) Phase2 estate with the 1.7 Isuzu derv lump. I've found a few around but all require a drive, if you know what I mean, to get to them.

Now, there were two distinct flavours of derv lumps in these Astra's, 1.7 GM low-blow and 1.7 Isuzu (the good 'un)

I know how to tell the difference by looking at the engines directly, but is there a difference in cylinder capacities between the two so I can save myself the trouble of going to look at a car only to discover its a low-blow GM unit?

I know the capacity of the Isuzu to be 1686cc, but I can't find the GM capacity anywhere. I've rung a couple of ads today and the dealers/private sellers all seem to say "err, its a 1.7 turbo -diesel".

I've put a few reg no's in the DVLA site and all have come back as 1686cc for TD engines in general which might help but might not

Sorry I know this isn't Renault related but it would be such a big help guys!
