My Laguna's driver door was sticky when I got it; it would sometimes fully unlock and other times not. However, I could always hear the solenoid going.

All I did was take the door trim and under-seal layer off (it's held on with mastic which remains sticky, although I don't know if a Clio even has an under-layer) and spray a large quantity of PTFE-based lubricant in the general direction of the locking mechanism. I've had no trouble since.

It may help to take the door card off anyway, even if this isn't your problem because it could be a dodgy connection in there somewhere.
