What i did was feed it through the rubber tube thing and cut a hole in the rubber tube and took out the bottom screw for the plastic connector block and fed the cable though there. I was only using 16awg speaker cable though.
8 awg cable is overkill for 13cm speakers man you only need 8 awg for running to an amp from battery or 4awg for slightly more powerful or more amps.

i'm currently running some Pioneer TS-C1300R comps in my doors. and running 2 x amps 1 for my kicker L7 12" sub witch is an KENWOOD KAC-PS621 (bridged)
and the other is for my 6x9's and comps Hifonics TXi 4406 amp.
