You could be lucky and just need the pump replacing but they wont know until they have fitted a new pump and inspected your engine.
If the engine has become to hot you may have cooked it.
This basically means that due to the lack of cooling your engine overheats thus damaging things like the head gasket plus as the
breaks down in the excesssive heat more friction is created between moving parts thus causing further damage !!! Also if you have put cold water into the hot expansion tank you could crack the head, very expensive.
Sounds bad I now but if you didnt run the engine for long in that state you might be okay.
