Even my glamourous yet strangely Neanderthal young assistant would struggle to pull the MAP sensor hose to the exhaust manifold, Noel

Camshaft... on picking the head up from the head doc I discovered three of the valve faces had been proper cleaned, and I was advised to oil and torque the bolts holding the retaining plate to the rocker shaft. That'll be a 'no' to camshaft removal, then...

I guess there's the possibility that they mixed the five bolts up and I no longer have the hollow bolts at each end, but I'd be very surprised / ¤¤¤¤ed off if that were the case.

The valve clearance is set by screw and locknut rather than shim (shims are on the 2 litre petrol engine).

It's clearance time, isn't it?

On the upside, it's not the sound of valve against piston.

But first I'll sort out the throttle housing seal. Universal Blue is my friend.
