Hi Graham - I missed your original posting.

Regards the message on start-up (its a disclaimer which absolves Renault from any liability if the satnav directs you the wrong way on a one-way street) - cannot be bypassed.

My CD does the same - its quite old tech (being CD based, as opposed to DVD), so the system is just working harder to keep up.

The clock isn't for display purposes - its so the satnav can give an ETA. Play about with your display settings, you will be able to include that function onto the base of your screen.
