Laguna II dash problems - a way forward??!!
Some of you may have seen this weeks Watchdog programme on BBC. It featured an item on early Ford Focus problems whereby the instrumentation 'froze' intermittently. The fault necessitated a new dashboard assembly costing up to £500 (I think).
Anyway, the point of this thread is to suggest to forum members - and anybody else you can get hold of - to email Watchdog, highlighting the rediculous situation some of us have found ourselves in, whereby if the battery on our Lagunas gets disconnected, the trip computer readout reverts to the factory default setting of metric units. The only 'known' solution is to have the dash replaced at a cost of (in my case anyway) £850!!!
The BBC URL for Watchdog is www.bbc.co.uk/watchdog
Maybe if enough people pester the BBC, they can feature this issue and tackle Renault UK head on.
Go on, give it a try. Who knows, we may get a result!
