CV boot sorted and alternator belt tightened up; will be visiting the MOT centre tomorrow...
Took off the throttle housing and removed the idle stepper valve thing, and gave both of them a thorough going over with carb cleaner. Reattached to inlet manifold with a proper gasket.
This has had NO effect on my idle: after a 950rpm 'choke' stage when cold it drops to 750rpm, and the needle gently wobbles by 10rpm either side of that mark. Out of interest, what IS the idle speed for a K7M? Have read both 820rpm and 750rpm, but the slower figure 'feels' low. As I've already said, perhaps I'm simply too used to having a holey MAP hose.
Suspect this will be resolved by sorting me tappets, some day soon.
