Trying to get your car up ramps?
Have you ever tried to drive your car up the open type metal ramps - used for DIY servicing - only to find them slipping away as your wheel starts to move forward?
Some time ago I read a tip that has proved its worth over the years. It goes like this:
What you need -
1 set of ramps (obviously!)
2 old cloths / rags
Take one cloth / rag and loop it so that it forms a 'U' shape. Hook the closed part of the 'U' over the bottom rung of each ramp (the rung nearest the car) and make sure there is enough cloth to have two 'tails' facing towards the car.
Slowly drive the car forward and as the wheel comes to rest on the 'tails' of the cloth, the weight hold the ramps in place to allow you to drive the car up without the ramps slipping away from you - magic!
