Sorry for the delayed reponse....
If I am honest I wouldn't bother with the 1.6,I'd try and find a 1.4 to qualify for cheap tax as there isn't a lot of difference in the perfromance of the two.
Rattly sunroofs seem to plague the Clio 2,and
failures are a regular occurance on all Renault 16 valve engines,but really the late Clio 2's are great cars.And at least you can come home and admire the proper car parked in your drive way........

There is no tax break here for cars, they are taxed on weight.
Alfa 35 Quid PA
Small Renaults 30 Quid PA
So the purchase is purely on reliability, and cost of ownership.
