Well good luck with that, but I think you're missing the point of it all a bit, sorry.
The inaccessibility, isn't all about making it difficult for the DIY guy, it's about packaging. A new car isn't sold on how easy it is to maintain, it sells based on looks/purpose/comfort/safety. Whilst making it look nice, and fit the aimed market, packaging can become a nightmare. Take the Modus, if you ever get the chance to look under the bonnet, youíll find that there isnít room to swing a mouse so donít even contemplate a cat, yet itís a 5 star rated car. Torx screws and 12 point bolts are not used to make it difficult for the average guy to fix his own car, they are used because they are a more reliable fixing especially when fitted at speed on a production line.
