I agree with Pat though re: the packaging etc.
Older cars (like my own Cavalier) are easier to maintain because of their age and relative simplicity. Also I think shorter/smaller bonnets are poular now. Imagine a Ford Capri - HUGE bonnet and a doddle to do anything wengine-wise.
The quick change clutch is a great idea and I have no idea why it was seemingly abandoned!? It would be forst on the list for an uber-Renault.
Or stick a Laguna badge on the back of the Cav and send that over the channel
