Question centre display dim/very dim

Hi, my 1998 Scenic has the centre display in the dashboard, where radio functions, time, temp etc should be displayed.

However the display ranges from the very dim in daylight, to practically invisible with lights on.

Is there any way to adjust the brightness of this panel?

It seems to be set far too dark

Also, the radio/cassette says CDchanger control on it, how easy is it to source and install a cd changer unit?

help appreciated from scenic newbie
