The TPS wheel sensors are made by Schrader who manufacture millions of standard type valves. If you can remove the sensors and fit standard valves without problems I don't see why it wouldn't work the other way around. The difficulty is removing them from the existing wheels without causing them damage. There are 2 types - one which is retained by a nut and also a snap-in version.
Their latest design of sensor claims to have a 10 battery life
Apart from the pre-installed systems they also supply after-market units for cars and motocycles.
