I think it was just above the badge. As you say on the underside of the bonet there are 2 layers of steel. To prolong it a filled the cavity between the layers of steel with spray Waxyol (can't remember how its spelt). This stops moisture settling in the cavity.
In my view if you do get bubbling bad - bonnet needs replacing. Had mine repaired a few times - even metal cut out and re welded - but still eventually came back - almost as cheap to get a new bonnet and a respray.
On a positive note when it first appeared on my car it was probably a good 1 - 2 years before it actually became a noticeable problem. However when it first appeared I did have a full dealer service history at that point.

Hi Nigel in a ideal world yes its on the horizon for change the end of this summer going into Autumn but don't hold me to this it will either go one way or the other to be fair other then its wear and tear problems its been good to me touch wood
and the oh likes it a lot and iam pleased when towing the van compared to other cars i have had in the past so it could stay 15 months yet
