Off Side Front Swivel Hub removal

I'm trying to fit a new ABS ring, but have a problem removing the hub from the lower wishbone.

I'm using the Haynes manual for the Clio I (mines a Clio II) as that's all I have.

In Chapter 9, section 23, Front Reluctor Ring, it says;

31 Remove the appropriate driveshaft as described in Chapter 8.

In Chapter 8, section 2, it says (abridged) (and I have done);

1 Slacken the driveshaft nut and wheel bolts.

2 Remove the roadwheel.

3 Remove the ABS sensor.

4 Remove the driveshaft retaining nut.

5 Unscrew the two bolts securing the brake caliper assembly, and slide it off the disc. Tie it to the coil spring.

6 Slacken and remove the nut securing the track rod end balljoint, and release the joint from the hub.

7 Slacken and remove the two nuts from the bolts securing the hub to the suspension strut. Withdraw the upper bolt, but leave the lower bolt in place.

it then directs you to left hand or right hand driveshaft, most of which is for removing the whole driveshaft, which I'm not doing, but whichever side it is, you finish off with;

11 Remove the lower bolt securing the swivel hub. Release the outer constant velocity joint from the hub and remove the driveshaft (I've not done this last bit).

This left me with the hub still fastened to the lower wishbone via a balljoint, which left me puzzled as to how they expect you to get the hub off. I was just about to post for help on here, when I glanced at Chapter 10 on Suspension, and saw a section headed Front Swivel Hub assembly - removal and refitting. In this section, it goes through the same steps as above, but then there's an additional section;

6 Remove the nut and clamp bolt securing the lower suspension arm to the swivel hub. Carefully lever the balljoint out of the swivel hub .....

Anyway, after getting frustrated that this wasn't mentioned in the Driveshafts chapter (to which I was originally directed), I removed the nut, but the bolt will not move. It looks like it's not designed to be removed, so I'm wondering if there's been a change in design between Clio I and II.

I've tried levering the balljoint out of the hub, but where do you lever against. I've tried a balljoint separator; that didn't work either, but then I don't understand how the wishbone is going to fall downwards when it's held at the other end, so I'm lost
