The day my gasket blew, I'd done over 4/500 miles in ONE day. The car probably overheated or something but it was never the same after that. It had run fine all day without any sign of a problem. The next day it simply wouldn't start and wanted a 24 hour rest before it would start again.
Until that point, I was doing about 350-400 miles per week myself. It was just about coping with that (but slowly getting worse as our budget didn't at that time allow for any maintenance) but the 4/500mile airport run day killed it.
You are unlucky with that though mate and hope it gets sorted soon. I know what it feels like to have a big failure. My Rover Cabriolet died with knackered valves half way up the M6 Toll
Was not amused. I cut my losses and bought the megane the same weekend. That was a hard but quick decision but I don't regret it.
However I do miss the Cabby in this nice sunny weather.
