Renault Laguna 1 - Dash Illumination
I just spent... 3 HOURS ...changing all the bulbs that had blown in my dash. The one behind the heater controls, the one in the cigarette lighter socket, the 20,000,000 or so that had gone in the instrument cluster.
NEVER, EVER, EVER take the instrument cluster out of a Renault with a cable-driven speedo if you value your sanity and health of your hands. Mine had absolutely no excess length in the cable and the contortions required to clip the cable back onto the clocks as you drop them back in have now caused me permanent damage and probably a place in a mental ward. I seriously wanted to drive the car into a lamp-post very quickly and leave it there, after I'd had to do it...
Once, but I couldn't work out a way to do so without injuring myself...
The second time I had to do it because I hadn't realised one of the backlight bulb-holders had got nudged and wasn't working, I was just about ready to commit murder.
Incidentally, I am stunned that this whole post has avoided fouling the swearing filter, but perhaps I'm just a very polite person.
All murderers are punished unless they kill in large numbers and to the sound of trumpets. - Voltaire
