Spent most of today replacing the intercooler and car now running perfectly.
One of the tubes had split along the joint, as the intercooler is sandwiched between the Aircon rad and engine rad with lots of suurounding components it's very difficult to see anything. However if you remove the floor pan and get someone to rev whilst you observe from below you might be able to spot something.
Incidently, this looks like the second replacement mines had, the one I took off has got the make & model painted on in the classic yellow paint that breakers use.
