I'd be trusting the fuel gauge more than the OBC. Dont forget the fuel gauge gets its reading direct from the sender unit which is in the fuel tank.
Whereas the OBC tries to work the miles left etc based on current fuel consumpation, fuel used etc etc, and it can be wrong !
Besides, its not good for the car to let it run that low on a regular basis. You run the risk of getting the crap from the bottom of the fuel tank into the engine....
