I have a nasty feeling that I was caught speeding for the first time today.

I was driving down a two-lane road which is usually 50mph. There were roadworks going on and I was doing about 40-45mph. At a roundabout at the bottom of the road, there was a policeman with a radar gun thingy.

I didn't think anything of it at the time, but on the way back the opposite way, I noticed a fold out 30 mph sign on the floor with sandbags around it. My passenger looked and saw the same sign on the road i was previously going down.

These signs must've been about 2 feet high from the ground. I had a lorry to my left, and a car directly in front of me, which totally obscured my view of the sign (if there was actually one at the time).

To cut a long story short, could I appeal against this? Could anyone please tell me where I can find a list of rules that have to be in place for them to convict you?

Thanks in advance!
Check out this weeks MotorCycle News. There is a bit in there about this. Could be helpful if the worst happens
