Well, you can change the pins from the metal case so the upper cage is bending a little bit more which makes it a little bit more flat which does improve the situation but sometimes it squeeks.
The upped dashboard from a williams or 16v is not enough in order to fit a cd player. Try the first option to make it a little bit more flat and you will be impressed with the result.
Ps: sometimes, the manufacturer of the cd player restricts the angle of installation. Kenwood can only be installed up to 30 degrees but sony can be up to 45 degress. So sony are a lot better for our clios
