Costs for repairs

Ok - a bit of a mixed day on the service front...

The good news

I've just had my 30,000/2-year service for 220 which seemed reasonable. It's been washed, the courtesy car (Micra) was fine and the service good

The bad news

The rear discs are shot and the following need replacing:
  • Discs
  • Pads
  • Hand brake shoes
  • Sensor cable
Common problem on the ZTs unfortunately. To be fitted by the dealer - 305

I can get all of the parts (OEM bar the shoes which are Mintex) for 128

The question is, roughly how much labour are we talking about? I'll let my local independent do it for me (somebody I've used for years) but just want to sort the budget out

Leaking coolant

I had noticed a gurgling sound behind the dash last week and when I checked the coolant it "burped" and needed topping up (just a quarter of a cup full). Forgot to mention this when I dropped it off, but they spotted a small leak in the top hose off the turbo . About 105 fitted

The question is, shall I leave this one to the dealer? MGs are notorious for HGF and I don't like to take chances. For the sake of a few quid should I leave it with them to sort and pressure test?

Thanks in advance
