Arrow the clips are the problem

They would come on with various other lights when you turn on the ignition, then they would turn off just after the other ones did and then a couple seconds later they would come back on! This was with all three clips undone.

Any more suggestions?

You have mis-understood the instructions, the problem is basically the connection between the seat and the car. The clips joins the pre-tensioning wiring under the seat to the ECU of the car. This is acheived through the plastic clips you are talking about. A resolution for some people is to unclip and then re-clip together the conectors.

This is because the clips are poorley manufactured and offer a bad connection. Try this for both seats and the warning lights should go off.

If the lights do re-appear you will have to cut out the clips and solder the wires perminatley together, see the FAQ for instructions (There is a good walk - through on here somewhere).
