Hello and welcome to the forums first of all.

This could be the problem as you say above. How you have wired it in might not be 'the best'. I can't really comment as I don't know how good you are with doing this but a place to start maybe.

Does the old harness not fit it? As you have 'rewired' the headunit side it might have messed up the electronics going to the inside, If i'm making sense. It might be worth putting it back to normal then trying it in another car maybe if you can do that. HU are quite easy to swap over to test.

Once again, the memory bit might be how you've wired it. It might not have any backup when the engine is off so loses all of it.

Someone else might have a better answer.
