I'd forgotten about this thread!

TomTom wiring is still a nightmare, to the point where I've unplugged the shoe from the control box and am powering the GO using the cigarette lighter lead. I'm planning to hook the power feed to the back of the cigarette lighter instead, but need to find the time and the inclination to go ripping the glove box out again.

Part of the confusion was the two power feeds: These are in fact 'power' and 'headlight sense' (for automatic dimming at night) rather than ignition and permanent live as I previously thought. Power is the only one I'm really interested in, so I'll hook that into the lighter socket and leave the headlamp one disconnected.
