Trip computer mpg

I've just traded in my Megane for a 2.0 Laguna Expression (05) and am a little disappointed/confused by the fuel consumption indication of the trip computer. Having settled at a level, it appears only to jump in 0.4 or 0.5 mpg increments which means that you travel a fairly long way before you get a slightly more up to date idea of your consumption.

My Megane would move in 0.1 mpg increments all the time (unless going up/down a steep hill or after resetting) giving me a far more precise/useful idea of the affect of my driving style on fuel used.

Anyone else experienced this?
