Yep I agree, I would only put someone in the rear set of seats on a Grand Scenic for very short journeys.
If you require to transport people on a regular basis and over long journeys get a proper 7 seater in my opinion one with a proper seat
We had an Alhambra which had a compliment of seven full sized seats, and I did travel sitting in the rear ones leaving my head no more than about 10 inches from the rear screen, well within the crumple zone. I would never put my kids right in the back and I would avoid travelling in the 3rd row of seats in any car given a choice.

1999 Scenic RXE, now gone as has the Alhambra that replaced it !
