Interior lights not working

I have just purchased a '99 Megane sport and the interior lights do not come on when any of the doors open? I thought that it may just be a simple fuse, but I have checked the fuses and they seem OK?
I can switch each of the lights on individually, so the bulbs and feed are OK, but nothing when any of the doors open.

Another thing, the boot light does not switch on either - does anyone know where the switch is for the boot. I can't find a push switch similar to that fitted to the doors - is the switch connected to the boot lock? Could the 2 issues be connected?

I have also traced the connections in a Haynes wiring diagram abd they seem to connect to a Multi timer unit - does anyone know if this could be the fault and if so how easy is it to repair/replace?

Any help would be appreciated.
