Attracting flies

Having driven my Almond Green Laguna around for the last week since acquiring it, I've noticed something a wee bit strange. Whenever I stop (admittedly in country locations), my car is immediately swamped with flies and I mean hundreds and hundreds. I thought it was maybe just the time of year until yesterday when I pulled up next to a grey Megane. Flies surrounded me but showed no interest in the Megane. So, is the colur attracting them, is it the heat-reflecting windscreen that pulls them in, are there parts of a dead body hidden in the car by a previous owner, or am I just imagining things?
