Looks like the problem is solved now, nevertheless follow the arrow for the alternator location BTW this is on a 1600cc Meg.
Sori the pic doesn't actually show the alternator only it's location. I hope the battery sorts it tho, it's probably the cheaper option, and much easier to replace.
One final word
Put and leave your side lights on while you change the battery, apparently this saves the voltage spike's screwing up the on-board computer
