The dashboards are another common failure on the Lag 2 I'm afraid,especially after being jump started due to the fact that as the leads are connected it causes a voltage spike to fry the circuit board components.If you ever have to disconnect the battery or jump it again turn the sidelights on to help prevent it happening.

There are companies that can can repair the dashboards,a company that I have used many times is BBA Reman.They have an excellent website,and if you ever need to speak to them in person they are very helpfull.

Re-the MOT,the only thing that it will fail on is if the ABS light isn't working,apart from that the dashboard isn't testable.

I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....
