Why don't all car drivers do the same? Possibly because they feel safe inside their tin boxes.
(Quietly departs, stage right.....)
Technically your departing stage left as you will be looking
As for your comments. I do agree the drivers in cars don't look near as much. I'm always in my mirrors, looking out for bikers, cyclists, other di**head car drivers.
Quite a lot of drivers don't use there mirrors until then are about to turn, even then they use them too late. When i'm on the motorway, the amount of people I have flashed int he middle lane to move over as I have got cars on my right is unbelievable. Then when you go past them their eyes are just transfixed to the road as though they are on tracks.
