Hi and welcome to the forum.
If the subframe is anything like a Laguna they are relatively easy to replace. As long as your methodical and are reasonable confident with a set of spanners it's not too bad. The weight of the engine will have to be supported and if the car has power steering the pipe that runs from the pump to the rack can quite often seize. A good dose of a penatrating
before hand can some times be a good idea.
Do I presume the "boy freind" will be doing he work for you?
