Ooo Ooo Tigz just found this

"tendency to leak water into the passenger footwell after heavy rain. This latter fault is a known problem with this car, although it may have been rectified on later models. The drain holes under the windscreen become easily blocked and water enters the car under the left side of the dashboard, pooling in the passenger footwell. This is bad enough, but the compartment under the front passenger seat houses the E.C.U. and if that gets wet, as it did shortly after we acquired the vehicle, then you experience some very unwelcome electrical problems i.e. windows wind down and cannot be closed, central locking fails. We wrote to Ford about this, and they offered to pay 25% of the cost of having the drain holes unblocked, but that was all, apart from recommending that the holes be cleaned out during the annual service. The car is now leaking again"
