That really depends on how you get the air to the filter.
F1 cars use panel filters
True, I see your point. Bet an F1 car's induction system is far more efficient than a road car too. I just find standard equipment is prone to heat soak and half the reason why people don't get the gains they expect when fitting a K&N and the like.
But I rekon we're all in agreement, they don't choke as much as a paper filter.
