One suggestion is as follows, I don't think it's been mentioned yet:

Check the plenum chamber drain points. They have silly mesh in them that blocks.
You will have to undo the inner arch trim at the rear to see it. Caution when removing as if it is blocked then you will get a wet sleeve. You can clean it out and replace it if you like, or just leave it out... up to you.

Good tip emilys dad. I am on the VWAuid forums, they have a rocco thread but haven't really had anyone reply to a post I made. Don't rate them that well to be honest, might be different for other models though. Still worth a look.
