Boot Latch Stuck

Hi - last night my boot suddenly would not open. All other locks worked fine but after numerous pressing of the buttons it opened. I have read somewhere that it could be just water or dirt around the electric switch that can cause that to happen. (hasnt done it on testing 20 times after that by the way).
Would someone be kind enough to give me an idiots guide on how to get to the switch/mechanism so i can clean it up and spray WD40 in the right place ?
I mean idiots guide as am useless and not even sure if i looking at the catch in the tailgate (top) or the catch at the bottom (inside the boot).
Many thanks.
(Laguna 2003 Initiale).
