My brother in laws brother worked for a Citroen dealer back when the 2CV was at it's most fashionable, and all the dealers in this area were invited to a competition to try and see if they could turn one over by driving it on an airfield. The prize was a new 2CV,so there wasn't much to aim for(
),but although the 2CV used to roll alarmingly around corners,no matter what any of them did,how fast they and how tight a corner they tried to turn, the bl0ody things stayed shiny side up.
I enjoyed this story. I've never driven a 2CV and have only been driven in one once. I have to say, looking at them, I don't know if I'd like to be in one while it was having an accident. I don't know what they're Euro NCap rating must be.
What did strike me at the exhibition was how relatively little the design seemed to change in 40 years, compared with how much some models change in a short space of time.
