Steering fuse

Hi - we have a 2004 Grand Scenic, which I have just fitted a towbar to. I've a couple of electrics questions:

o when doing the mechanical portions, the car was sat with the doors open (courtesy lights on for the best part of the day). When I started it back up, the power steering was not working. Is this down to the battery?

If not, I may have blown a fuse when poking the wiring about. Anyone know which one?

o what's the best way to get a live feed? I have a long wire in the kit to go to the battery, but can't find a decent way though the firewall...

Any help gratefully received!!!

Cheers - Simon
