If it's the old 2.0 8v engine, then they're not too bad - I had one in a Mk I Laguna for a couple of years.
The engines are fairly bulletproof to be honest - I *think* they're just a stroked 1.8 8v unit, and I did 30k in mine without it missing a beat.
They're not bad for pootling about, but they are fairly asthmatic at the top end...there's no point in wringing them too hard, because they don't have much "go" above 5krpm.
That said, there's plenty of torque low down, so if you have a relaxed driving style, they're not bad. Economy was about average...used to get mid to low 30s out of mine.
