It was a new ESP computer when mine failed. Repaired under warranty, but I think we're talking the wrong side of 500 notes just for the box if you're paying yourself. A trip to the scrappy's might be in order (I don't think these things are coded.)

From a safety point of view, just check that your ABS still works by braking hard on a loose surface. As long as it does (and mine did) then the car should be fine to drive. If the ABS is also faulty, then you should drive carefully and get the fault sorted as soon as possible. Contrary to what you'd assume, an ABS car with faulty ABS is not as safe as a car that wasn't equipped with ABS to begin with.
