Hi TTT - now I know what you mean - the large anti-rattle spring. Apart from seizing they have a tendency to break after a number of years - the tip which inserts into the hole in the caliper tends to snap off as at that point it is under the most strain and also a temperature diferential point. The outer part of the spring being exposed to the air whilst the inner is inside the hot caliper. This type of spring is used in many vehicles and the last time I bought a pair I was able to source them from a Vauxhall agent at a cheaper price. Motor factors and brake specialists tend to supply such springs as part of a kit rather than individual parts.
