Also - which is better to trust? GPS or Speedo? My speedo is usually up about 5mph on the GPS figure (40 speedo, 35 GPS) and it does have me worried sometimes...
It is really difficult to find reliable info on this, but as general rules:
1) Indicated speed is normally higher than actual speed.
2) GPS is normally closer to actual speed than speedo.
I would love to be able to check both my speedo and GPS for accuracy! (Does that make me a geek?)
Basically, I go by GPS all the time. The only time it will be out slightly is when you are on really twisty roads. Like country ones for example. Even then nowadays it updates quick enough to be more acurate. I have used it so much I don't need my Tom Tom on anymore for my speed. I know where the marks are on my speedo and rev counter, lol.
