Renault Laguna II - Phase 1 - Buyer's Guides - Members Buyers Guide & Members Tyre Advice
My Laguna II dCi Dynamique has been the most comfortable, well finished car I've ever had.
But I'd never buy another! (And I pity whoever buys it second-hand!)
There are annoying rattles and squeeks from everywhere, the CD player jumps intermittantly, the solenoid for the fuel filler cover went faulty at about 20,000 miles, and the engine problems would fill a forum on their own. And this is a three year old car with less than 50,000 miles.
Another Laguna II owner (younger than mine) got into my car last week, and was amazed at how well the climate control was working. He said that his didn't compare - and I thought mine was just okay! He, like me, has had problems with the stupid keycards (surely one of the most useless "advances" ever!). Two other Laguna II drivers have likewise had keycard faults, and one of them has had serious engine problems - all bought new, all low mileage, all well serviced.
If you want a car which will sit in the drive and look real pretty, and one you can sit in for hours and be comfortable, then go ahead and buy a Laguna - but, IMHO, if you want a reliable car, don't touch it with a bargepole!
