Guys I have found the proplem

After being diagnosed by the Renault dealer I was told I needed the main fuel pump changing to resolve the problem, this along with the cam belt which was advised to be changed while they were in there came to a staggering 810+ vat

This was a real blow as I had only just spent near 300 on the EGR valve which as it turns out wasnt the problem. Anyway the problem was solved by a friend of mine who is a renault mechanic, all he did was take hold of the loom just below the fuel priming bulb and lift it an inch!! The engine which was spluttering and reving its self instantly ran smooth we tried a few times just to prove the point. I cant say just how chuffed I was, this has been driving me crazy for months!! This morning I supported the loom using some cable ties and have just returned from a test drive
