ice solution to a cd player

i was reading a forum re how to get a cd player and use existing paddle control, and dash display, im in new zealand, my scenic 1988 model was imported from France, via Japan, it has a philips head unit radio cassette, and a seperate cd changer under the seat, point is, the head unit was dedicated to the paddle control on steering wheel, and the dash display, i took it out and replaced it with a sony mp3 head unit, had to fabricate a panel to tidy it up, surely whatever head unit is fitted be it alpine, or philips etc, there will be a cd stacker for it, most head units made after 1994 have cd changer controls, and a plug at rear to plug it into. . i have the stacker and cable here for a philips. probably cost to much to send it over there, but wrecker yards would have them, note, unless its radio frequency type, stackers need to be same brand as head unit, and some of them are diferent as well.good luck,
