Sounds like the glow plug warning light, which should only come on for cold starts for a few seconds and then exstinguish. The engine management light is engine shaped. As for the "dipping" my dCi does that on idle when the air con is on- it's the aircon clutch going in and out methinks- nothing to worry about though if it is that. Try switching the aircon off and see if the dipping stops?I'm no expert, so I have no idea why the preheat light should come on while at 70mph- has the symptom persisted or was it a one off? Was it wet- could it have been som water in the electrics?
I feel that its worse when the air con is on and when its going uphill but the "dipping" occurs regardless whether the air con is active or not.
The reason I thought the dash light was a engine management fault is that when I lost the power, the car went into some kind of "emergency" mode and would accelerate very slowly.
