If I push the button to turn it on (either way for cruise or limiter), the light on the dash comes on along with the display, but only as long as the button is held - the moment I remove my finger from the button - it switches off.

The cruise control/speed limiter will work if I press and hold the button, but disengages as soon as I release it.

I have pulled the switch out and whilst it's hard to see much, the microswitches are making a good strong click to engage.

I have also checked the switch on the clutch pedal and this seems fine - furthermore if I engage cruise using the 'hold the button' method, it is cancelled, as you would expect, by pressing the brake or clutch - which for me rules these switches out.

I've scoured previous posts but can't find anything, so...

Any ideas most greatfully received. I'm starting to wonder if so much electronics in a car is a good thing after all!
I had the same problem with my '04 Initiale. just had a new switch fitted for 14.88 at my local Renault specialist (NOT main dealer) - problem swolved.
